Unhappy Will She be DOA in the morn? (Engine Flush overnight)

I was just about to change the oil to my maz for the first time when my dad said, "here, try this son..." handing me Gunk 5-Minute Engine Flush. I said, okay...what's 5 minutes to clean her out...

Well, I put it in and ran the engine as instructed...when I go to remove the bolt to drain the oil I can't. The bolt is stuck on there REALLY tight...

I even tried vice grips and it would not budge...so what do you guys think? Is it in there eating up the seals only to be found DOA tomorrow morning?

Or can I drive her to a mechanice in the morn to have that bolt cut off?

Damn...I knew it was a bad idea!

it could be that the engine flush had nothing to with it and maybe just the bolt is just stuck tight. an air impact wrench would take it off intantly...i love those things

you can try the ghetto way like i did before on several different cars...put the socket on the bolt and get it to stay there, then hook a strong rope or wire around it and sit on the ground and hold the rope and push away with your feet against the car

go buy a new drain plug, pound on a socket on the old plug and remove.

More than likely the last person to put the drain bolt in crossthreaded it...

okay...i'm not really worried about the bolt...i'm more worried about the flush treatment that will be sitting there all night...will it damage the engine from the inside? will most of it be in the pan? can i drive it to my mechanics in the morn or have it towed? he's only 5 mins away...

Most engine flushes are just kerosene relabeled. Don't sweat it, it is nothing caustic. DO NOT DRIVE OR REV IT WITH THE STUFF IN THERE. It thins the oil and could cost you your bearings...

If the bolt simply won't come off just go junkyarding and get another oil pan and bolt. Your oil pan gasket probablly needs replacing anyways. . . . .
