SA radio fit
It will take more than cutting your plastic console panel. The metal of the skeleton that holds up the whole dash is different between the 85 and yours. I have an SA but I seem to recall the 85 FB dash has a different ventilation control system and everything, my point being that the larger 85 radio system takes the shape of the 85 vent system into account as far as size and postioning goes. I doubt the 85 plastic cover will even fit an SA since that whole center console was restyled and resized in 81 (partly because the tranny shifter was moved back about 4 inches). So your stuck either chopping up you existing console plastic cover OR having a new one fabricated. AND you'll be in behind it with a hack saw to cut out all the cross pieces and supports behind it. My advice:
1) if you can get the radio cheap, buy it then you have a real world piece to measure and compare holes and dimensions. Then, if its going to take major surgery, just toss or resell the radio. There's no practical turning back once you start carving! And frankly there are so many better, smaller after market sound systems out there, what you THINK you'll save in the cost of the radio you'll burn in the hours and hours of chopping and fitting to try and make it work...and then if it doesn't??? yike!! Plus a 20-year newer sound system has got to sound better...??
2) get a spare used console plastic cover so you have a stand by in case the chop job fails. If you haven't destroyed the innards of the dash, the newer cover will hide the evil within
Good luck!

Definitely won't fit without massive hackery.
I haven't ever seen an SA or series 2 without the stock center cover hacked up for an aftermerket radio. It might be a good idea to go find a pre-hacked one instead of hacking your good one. New ones are either hideously expensive or no longer available.
