Will compression have a large impact on emmissions?
Will compression have a large impact on emmissions?
I'm working on getting past my first (and final!) clean air inspection (had to unstick my MOP as it was stuck "wide open"). I've got a couple of questions...
1) I know the jury is out on ATF treatment for freeing up the seals, but if emmissions are affected by compression, I'll probably postpone the retry until after I've had a chance to do it.
If compression won't have a big impact on emmissions, I'll avoid throwing extra garbage into the exhaust that may just make me fail emmissions.
2) What is the impact of ATF on the catalytic converters? Should I be disconnecting the exhaust for the first start up post-ATF?
Thanks in advance for your help.

First off, what is a MOP?
1)= it will effect emmissions, improper compression eill lead to an unclean burn
2)= no ill effect on converter, just alot (mount st helens) of smoke.
side note= ensure your cat is in good shape (less than 10-15 yrs old and your air injection systems is functioning properly or rigged to at least.
