Will AC components from an 83 fit an 80?

Just like the title says. I have a chance to get a 1983 RX-7 that has all AC components. I have a 1980 "S" model that came with no ac.

The dash looks similar between the 80 and 83.... do you guys think the 83 components will fit?

Thanks for advice!

The only difference I can think of off hand is that the hoses are different
at the compressor, but thats a non-issue since you have no A/C to begin
with. I would think it should hook up and work. You may need an A/C relay
if its not already on your car, the donor should have one you can use.

Never done this swap so this is just me guessing.

You might want to take a look at an SA with A/C and compare it to your
donor. That should give you an idea of how to get it done.

I don't have 1st hand knowledge, but I've never heard of major changes or upgrades in the A/C systems. The control **** in the interior changed I believe. Since this was an option installed once the car came to the US, I'd say with confidence that all you need are the major parts, mounting brackets and hoses and know where to hook it up electrically. You need a belt too. But parts from an 83 system should all fit and be compatable to your 80 chassis.
