i have a 1985 with 12a and they dont make the one i need anymore so i need to know what my options are. i tried bypassing it but it makes a funny bubbling noise and smokes from the carb.

 

Unless you are in the 5 county area in St Louis that requires emissions, you don't really need it. I don't know if there is a difference between the carb and fi canisters.

I have mine removed, left the hard line from the tank open, capped the rest.
