There used to be a guy that sold the kits for $400. His site is gone now though. I'd rather have the two small round lights recessed into the body and have a permanent clear cover. Though that is still better than one giant flip up light.

but I think the problem with the first link was that those lights weren't true headlights(didn't prroject well). right? as for the miata conversion, is there one for the 1st gen? that one just shows a kit for the 90-97 models.

Looks relativly easy. Gut the Stock lights, retain the stock motor and mounts, get some aftermarket lights and make some brackets to fabricate....

Might take some time but shouldn't be too hard.

You would need to make a new linkage, too. Otherwise the headlights will still open up big enough for the 7" bulbs. That kit for the miata works on a first gen, but Im not sure if you need to modify it to fit.

Yeah, they are the Miata kit. I don't think they look very good without the black plastic surround. For $400 bones, I expect it to be clean and bolt in.

I dig the dual rounds in the flip up... I dunno why, but I like the flip up lights. I would like a plastic surround for em though... Not that hard to fabricate though...

I don't like how the person who installed em on the Miata said how the beam pattern sucks... Beam pattern suckage isn't good...

Wonder how hard it'd be to convert that quad light to HID... Ponder ponder ponder...

Very. HIDs aren't plug-and-play, you'd have to modify the whole harness to prevent the risk of very nasty electrical fires.
