Why am I running ro

1) My first gen RX is running a little bit rough. Changed the air filter, distributor cap/rotor, adjusted idle speed/mixture. Nothing helped. It just doesn't sound smooth, and doesn't feel it. Could it be an engine mount that broke? I really don't know what else it could be.
2) Also, the reason I suspected an engine mount, is that something in the front right is rattling, just like a fast clunking when i hit bumps.

Any ideas for either?

chances are a vacuum leak. the clunking is probably the suspension/steering having worn bushings. mine clanked pretty bad and turned out the passenger mount for the steering had NO bushings left.

check all the vacuum tubes, especially the big one on the back of the intake manifold going to the passenger side of the carb

While the engine is off, push and pull the engine (from the side). If it moves for than about 4 inches of play..

Time to replace the motor mounts.

One, more question, there are six little colored boxes kinda above the carb, one of those things broke. Need to be replaced??? What are they?

thats just emission bullshit and thats also one of your vacuume leaks,id tell you to take them off cause it only take 10 minutes but when i did mine it became really really hard to start.
so until i solve the problem i dont want to go suggesting things.

its under the car near the drivers rear tire. right next to the fuel pump. easy to change.

Answer to #2 Is maybe a lower ball joint, or the upper strut mount. From the drivers or passenger side of the car. Up at the top of the door, push the car hard back and forth if you hear a popping noise in the front bad ball joints

I think you got a vacuum leak from the bad emission solenoid, but on my 85 I tried EVERYTHING and it still idled rough it was low compression in the front rotor, but went about 40,000 miles before I lost the motor

Good luck!
