Why not do like Simtech Racing here in Norway, and build the ultimate 12A? Its going to cost though.... Take a look on the links below.

The amazing thing is that the 12A actually lasts!

If you are looking for durable power, do it right, and go for Haltech, Autronic, etc and low comp rotors, together with an extend port and a laaaarge intercooler!

Yes, what they are doing is just adding a turbo to an existing 12A carby engine as a cheap way of getting some more power.

A better but more expensive way is to use a factory 12A turbo efi motor which was used on some Japanese models including RX-7s. It's a far better engine with low compression rotors. The hot RX-2s and RX-3s went that way as the 13BT was too heavy. Keeping most components stock you can get 250hp intercooled, with 500+ if you port and upgrade the turbo. For example, with an upraded exhaust system and intercooler my 12A Turbo puts out nearly 225rwhp at 10psi in daily driver mode.

seanrot, i dont know where you are getting your prices from, but that list of parts right there equals well over 500 dollars, **** i payed 230 for my wastegate alone when i have my red car turboed
I got a street ported 0 mile 87 tII engine, tubular turbo manifold, tial wastegate, coils, alternator,CAS x2, clutch, flywheel, jay tech 4bbl manifold, 4bbl throttle plate, rising rate aero motive fpr intercooler and two boxes of rotary parts for $400 bucks!!! Most parts are in my car and working great... That doesn't mean that the next person is going to get that deal.. But it also doesn't mean I paid more than that...

I had a nice 12a turbo set up but it's not cool trying to tune it to run nicely... I blew my engine and went efi....

With the Ida you shouldnt have a big clearance issue with a turbo so just get the s4 turbo and manifold oblong the holes and make it work. I might have a connection on a carb hat and float but its going to be really expensive $$$.
I disagree, since I bought a brand new IDA a couple years back and it came with a proper float. It was for my sigma turbo setup. The guy I bought it from told me that all the new ones came with boost safe floats.
