where is the idle adjustment? (pics??)

where is the idle adjustment? (pics??)

id check my manual, but i just managed to loise it the other day, and cannot afford a new one.

if someone could post a pic or something, thatd be awesome...

Dude im having the same trouble is your engine an s1 or an s2 the s2 which is probably and 85 id on the right side of the carbueretor standing on the pass side

its the round one behind the blue lettering of the air pump no thats no the engine thats in my car it the old junk one its flathead too if thats not it id like to find out where it is cuz my engine runs at 1200 all the time but its bridge ported

picks didn't help me with my search for the elusive idle adjustment screw. you cant really see it looking down at the carb anyway. what you need is a mirror, a flashlight, and band aids for your knuckles.

Idle speed and idle mix screws. Red one is mixture, yellow one is idle speed. Early models had 2 screws for mixture, one is an air screw and one a fuel screw. This later model carb has only a fuel screw, the air jet is fixed. BTW if your carb doesnt have a mix screw but a funny bullet shaped thingie, then it still has the factory "this is an adjustment you dont need to **** with you yankee devil" tamper proof cover on it. See the Haynes or Mazda shop manual on removal, or just pry it off like I do.

It's a bitch to find if you don't take the air filter bonnet off, so do yourself a favour, and take it off :P
