Where does this part go?

Hey, I got this piece for an 83, and I have no idea where it goes (other then somewhere under the radiator). Does someone have a picture of this piece mounted? Thanks.

It's a "splash shield" for your engine. It's used to keep road water and puddles from splashing up into the engine compartment. The aft end of the shield (where your gloves are) faces the rear . The front fit's right up underneath and behind the front slotted air dam. If you line it up that way the holes should line up with with anchor nuts (if there still installed.) Hope this helps.

Its very important. Like the guys said it goes under the radiator area. The top of the pic has holes that match the factory airdam and fender brace bolts. The back center notches slip into the lip on the front crossmember. This part is critical for engine cooling. It keeps the fan from pulling hot air from the radiator in circles back thru it.

I thought it was more for aerodynamics, keeping the air from rushing up into the engine bay causing drag.

I'm glad my mechanic recognized I was missing one and gave me one of his spares, especially since I only race the car...maybe this will shave a few hundrenths off my lap times. Thanks again guys, and great info.
