Where can I buy new coil springs that retain stock ride height?

I believe the title explains it all. Every where I look there is always some degree of drop involved, I need a new set of springs that will retain the stock ride height, any idea's?

If your car has original springs, the springs on your car have started sagging. Any springs that say 1" drop from stock should keep the height very close to how the car sits now. Some people have said that Racing Beat or Suspension Techniques springs actually raised their car a bit, depends how far the stock springs have sagged. I'd still get the ReSpeed coilovers, set the height wherever you want and you can adjust corner weights if you have scales or know someone that does.

My opinion, if you're doing the work anyway, you might as well put some quality **** in there. www.re-speed.com coilovers are works of art, well built, and will last longer than the car they are mounted on. The added bonuses are, you can set exactly the ride height you want, even if you change your mind later on down the road. You can also choose the spring rate you want, whether its rock hard racy, comfy cruiser mode, or anywhere in between. And the rates, again, can be changed out easily and cheaply down the road if your desires change.

And I will also second the fact that, compared to your used (sagging) springs, Racing Beat springs will probably result in a higher ride height than what you currently have now. I replaced my original springs with Racing Beat units: was pretty disappointed in them overall so I ended up selling them off and moving on to coilovers. I have no regrets, other than the waste of time and money from not doing it the right way in the first place.

Hope this helps...

I wish the ReSpeed kit had been available back when I bought my springs. Back then the Canadian Dollar was trading at .65USD instead of .95USD and the Racing Beat springs I bought cost me a fortune!

Not that I'm unhappy with the RB setup, but having the adjustability of coilovers would be awesome.

Check your local parts store for a stock replacement set. What are your plans? The Re-Speed coil/o's would be your best bet. But we don't know what your intentions are. Cheapest bet would be to hit a salvage yard for some stockers or get them off the forum classifieds. Looking for long term - get some coil/o's and adjust to stock height. But that costs $$.

thanks for all the input, looks like re speed coil overs are the best bet. the whole issue is that ever since I dropped in the v8 the front of the car sags pretty bad partly due the added weight and also the 25 year old springs just aren't what they used to be. I've been using coil spring boosters just to keep the front high enough to clear my drive way, it's not the way you want to run a car you care about.

Contact re-speed. They can hook you up with a nice setup based on your V8 swap (spring rates,etc.). You might need to change the rears to balance it out though....but ask them.

Yep, get with Billy and he'll set you up with exactly what you need to counter the weight increase. You can contact him on this forum by PM, his user name is "Bwaits_"

He is very knowledgeable, and his customer service inspires people like me to recommend his services whenever possible (in case you hadn't picked up on that by all of the other responses already).
