1985 rx7 12a manual

What happens:
When I press the gas the car bogs out and dies, but if a repeatedly pres the gas lightly I can get the car to move. Even after that I can tell I have lost a ton of power.

When did it happen:
I let a friend drive my car. He was tough on it, but I don't think anything I have not done my self.
My car did short once because the clock is reset. Would not getting the power it need do that. should I look into it?

 

Ok that was just a freak out post. I posted this before looking at it. when I let my friend drive the car he sucked so much I guess that the battery came loose and hit the distributor cap loosing power to the spake plugs. sorry admins delete post. I kind of feel stupid

tie you battery down. If it is already, tie it down better. lesson learned lol

EDIT: dont let your friends drive your cars unless you know if they break it they will fix it no matter the cost. even then be leary.
