Oh I see now, It draws from gas tank and then the surge tank.. Well **** seems like you would have to have 2 EFI pumps...Crap

Nope, you only need a low pressure pump to fill the surge tank. In theory the low pressure pump doesn't need to flow as much as the high pressure pump since the excess fuel from the fuel rail is returned to the surge tank. I still wouldn't trust the stock pump though... better off using a Carter or Holley.

Right... the "lift pump" has to be big enough that the surge tank never goes dry. Fortunately, there is little or no pressure involved between the lift pump and the surge tank so the lift pump doesn't have to be anything special as far as pressure handling goes, as long as it can move enough fuel. If you think about it, the only time the lift pump would make any kind of pressure at all would be when the surge tank is full and fuel has to be forced out through the surge tank-to-fuel tank return line. Any other time it's just moving fuel...

Unfortunately it's hard to find people that rate their fuel pumps at 0psi

I thought most companies rate their pumps at 0psi, because that is when the flow is greatest.... anyway, just make sure it flows enough at any pressure, it'll be sure to flow that much or more with no pressure.

Very true. The SE pump should work fine as a lift pump but I definately wouldn't use the stock 12A pump.

67 gph (my pump) is a HELL of a lot of fuel, thats over a gallon a minute, I just dont see how the hell it would every need anything more than that, as long as the tank was kept semi full it seems it wouldnt matter...

I understand the theory behind the surge tank and such. Hell I dunno what to do... I need to take a picture of my fuel pump and filter they are HUGE!
Just dont see where you are gonna get a surge tank and another fuel pump at under the car.

I did a search and came up with this pic posted by twister. I'm sure you can shoe-horn it all under there somehow. Or have you thought about mounting it all in the hatch like AJC?

Put it all in that big space next to the gas tank where the OE muffler goes, and then run a side exhaust like an old Cobra

That way when you pass people on a country road (yah, that's it, "passing") they can see your bright-orange exhaust

Yeah right LOL

But I did pull the drivers side rear wheel off and looks like if I trash that plastic piece and make a metal one theres a hell of a lot of space back there.. Any thoughts onthis, bad idea to put fuel delivery behind the rear end?

Well, lots of people mount those huge Paxton fuel pumps (the ones that look like two bright red Coors tallboys mounted ed to end) under and just in front of the rear bumper. That's all the info I can give on that...

Hey that looks just like regular fuel hose. Me and setzep had a talk the other nite about this, the pressure is actually on the other end of the pump, so why the hell did I buy $6/ft hose!
