I got mine from Americas Tire(Discount Tire) They are 1" or 25mm thick I think. I had to do this because I didn't want the koenig wheels so I got some slick Drag wheels. I believe that they come up to somewhere around $140 for the set.

I bought a set off this forum. They were 60 shipped for the whole set which I think was a great price.

Its not that you can't go to 4x100, its just that its easier to go to 114.3, as they are closer, and 114.3 is a way more common bolt pattern. 4x100 guys are bashing their heads against the wall finding good rims often times as well, its just not as bad as 4x110.

I've ordered a set of 4x110 - 4x100 adapters from TechnoToyTuning, costs around $208 with tax & shipping.

4 x 100 is WAY more common than 4 x 114.3, what have you been smoking?

Take SSR for example. http://www.ssr-wheels.com/wheels/ssr.asp They have several wheels that are available in 4 x 100, 4 x 114.3, 5 x 100, and 5 x 114.3. Then there are some wheels that are availabe in 4 x 100 only. 4 x 114.3 is the odd size but it has gotten better lately.

Also, remember to choose a wheel style before you decide to go with adapters. The adapters will push the wheels out (usually about an inch) and so you need to change the offset to compensate. If you want a wheel with a lot of "lip", then adapters may not be the best bet or you may need to add flares to compensate.

So I would start with the rim and offset choices and see what is going to fit your car with the adapters installed. That will then let you know what adapter thickness will allow the wheel to work on your car. Be sure to go for a quality adapter, if you go that route. This is not something to cheap out on with low grade stuff.

I may be in the market for some adapters in the near future, as it seems to be the most cost-effective solution to get some good wheels and tires under my car.

I can search for "4x110 4x100 adapters" and get some results, but are there any brands specifically better than others? I'm planning on replacing whatever hardware it comes with with Grade 8 or better, and red loctite-ing everything.

I'd love to be able to get in on all the Miata wheel options I have down here with the popularity of Spec Miata. Takeoffs ftw.
