i've heard about it, even some a few but never thought about it. there are two reasons for this:
1. i got a great deal on some 17's and got them custom drilled for no extra cost.
2. if someone takes my 7 (for the second time) he can't sell the rims because they don't fit anywhere else........this made me happy even though i knew someone was joyriding with my baby.

sorry i couldn't be more help.

bought the cp racing adapters. i didnt get the entire bolt kit though so i put only 2 on to check them out and they work good. now is all i need is the rest of the bolts. mop they are pretty easy altough they can be pricey.

cutsom drilled 17's. Please tell me where?! I've been looking into doing somthing like that but it does get too pricey. Done some individual serching and came up with a few companies that did it. Mainly big truck companies and not cheap at all. here's one off the top of my favotires, individual searching can bring about more companies, http://www.truckn-store.com/product....d%2525253D1324

A few q's I've been thiking about
Are there companies that custom drill hole patterns? Do you contact the individual company for a custom pattern? Or is there some company that'll take ANY wheel and fab. it up to create any pattern?

I have their adaptors up front, they are very good quality.Ive run them for years at high speeds with no problems. The key to running adaptors safely is using quality parts with strong hardware, and not running big, dished wheels on top of the adaptors.Too much push out will increase load on the wheel bearings. My Advans are nearly all negative,so the tire contact patch is still under the bearing hub.No issues whatsoever after 20K miles.

Steve, that car is a thing of beauty.

This subject has been beat to death. You'll spend around 200-250 for a good set of aluminum wheel adapters.

Custom drilling wheels gets uber expensive, especially if the wheels are already drilled. I would get some spacers, or think about converting the car to -SE front spindles. For the axles, you can just take em out, have them welded, and re-drilled and tapped. Those are pretty easy.

well it was kinda a shady deal for me. i ordered my rims from icwracing.com (white 17 inch tridents) through a local tire shop since he did not have them in stock and i didn't want to wait right then he tried to make a deal with me. i was pretty sure that they were not going to fit (i was right, c'mon who makes our lug pattern) and he thought they were going to so i bought them with tires (falken ziex 205/40ZR17 i think) so we aggreed on the price and i signed the paperwork that said he had to get them on my car for the set price. it took a week for them to come and i brought in my 7 and they tied to mount them. i tried to tell this guy it wasn't going to fit, he told me to come back later and it would be done. i came back at the end of the day and my 7 was sitting in the parking lot with the stocks on. he told me the pattern was strange and since he had said he would get them on he would for no extra cost. he sent them up to west coast wheels and man they came back nice. i couldn't even tell they had been drilled. if i can get a pic up tonite after work you can see for yourself.

I spent about 890 for a set of Chrome Cragar SS's that were drilled to fit my Taurus SHO. The company only deals with un drilled muscle car wheels mostly though...and only 5 lug as far as I know...but there must be companies out there that deal with undrilled wheels for imports at a reasonable cost.

Good luck! I had gone through all the same crap you are going through. I found a place in Cali I think called Excaliber wheel accessories that made a set for me for around $200. They make them so you can run a typical front wheel drive offset in about any size rim you want. The only problem with custom drilled wheels is Heaven forbid you curb rash or dent one and your screwed. I would recommend going with the adapters.

These are 17" Konigs with 205/40s up front and 215/40s in the rear. This thing handles like its on a freeking rail!

OK, The Wheel adapters are kinda of thick. I am running a regular front wheel drive offset like you would find on a Honda or some other little front wheel drive. I am using these wheels on my '89 VW Cabrio right now and they fit just fine. As far as the body kit, it was on the car when I purchased it.

thats per adapter i believe. Check with them first. The best rim selection will be with a 5 lug x 4 1/2 spacing.

What attracted me to the truckn-store's adaptors was the selection of thickness' they offer for each type of adaptor. If your running a regular body, then youll just need one size. But us widebody guys need various thickness' based on what brand widebody we run and also differences between the front and rear fender width's.
And Im pretty sure it 70-ish per adaptor, which aint bad considering they are excellent quality and theres lots of selection.Plus,I have no doubt if you called them with a specific application thats not listed, they could make it for you....

What is the center bore dimension is required on an 81-83; I know I could measure it but both my car and stock wheels are a few hundred miles away right now and I need to order wheels.

Your gonna want to measure that centerbore with a caliper and go with MM as our cars EVERY dimension is gonna be metric. Its an important measurement in order center and support the adaptor,so dont fudge it!

I agree, that is why I am asking. I seem to remember a step in my wheel hubs. And a dia of 60 mm, but it could be 58 or 59.6 or anything but it must be exact to take wheel loads
