wheel adapter question

wheel adapter question

yes i already searched but no one has asked the question i am about to ask..

im about to buy some 4x110 to 4x100 wheel adapters but i want to know since the 1st gens have wheel lugs instead of studs and nuts does a lug fit in the wheel adapter without sticking out and hitting the back of the rim???

btw im looking at getting adapters that are 15mm thick

you can buy the studs from your local tire shops or even mazdatrix. I dont recall the overall lenght of the longest one. I have converted all of my RX-3s and RX-7s.

studs? you press them into the axle shafts and discs?

not pressed, they are screw-in to the front hubs and rear axles

of course, you need use lock-tite (I prefer blue over red) and new lug nuts either mag or acorn depending on your rims

Actually, yes use locktite, the strong kind (red IIRC). They are safe to use. As far as nuts, just go to your local parts store and pick some up. The studs use a pretty common thread pitch, just double check before you buy nuts.

yep i just bought 16 of those studs, a set of 4x110 to 4x100 wheel adapters and tomorrow im buying a set of 17" konig rims and 205/40 tires off craigslist...total cost of everything is $580 what a deal!

i love my oldschool meshies but one center cap fell off and broke in a braketsand and now they look awkward plus i want a little more low profile tire for teh summer so im all set now and yay no more stupid lugs to line up god i hated those :P

so ill be selling my 14x8 meshies that are in my sig with tires, 2 have brand spankin new 195/60 performance tires and two have about 20% tires i just replaced the front two last week and wanted to finish off the back two before i got new ones so make me an offer on teh rims and tires hehe
