whats your method? (rebuild in progress)

I was having a freaking hard time disassembling the engine.. at first everything went fine.,. all the external components came out like nothing. I got to the front cover off with little trouble. I got the rear off with no problem. When I was pulling the engine apart the ig black and red runnder seals were found to be cooked up, and they snaped easyly, the rotor came out quickly, the houseing is in excellent shape.. no scratches, cracks, carbon deposits, in fact both houseing apprear mint on the inside. The rotors had heavy build up of carbon and the apex seals are fine..? not sure, haven;t measured them. I will say the corner peices are not perfect.. they look like they were about to go.

i can not get the corner seals out. the springs for those need to be replaced.

the side seals look ok.. are there springs behind them?

the rotor bearings will need to be replace.. they got worn maks on them.

what else what else.. humm

I can not 4 of the oil seals out... there are eight right..? I will work on it some more tomorrow.

I am planning on builing a 13B 4 port and selling it locally to a friend.. how much should I sell it for?

I need to make a list of the seals and stuff I will need,, can someone help me out?
The reason why I want to know is because I want to find the best possible prices and mix around merchants to get the lowest possible price.

I know I will need a rotor kit for a '85 13B. what about the other seals?

i will I could fix the stupid driver problem that will not allow me to use pics from my camera.

yes there are springs behind the side seals. make sure you get all the carbon out from those side grooves. you can use a strait pick that fits in the apex seal groove and tap it lightly to get the corner seals out.
dont pry on anything too hard or you may damage the rotor.

when I took apart my junk engine, the side seals were really stuck in there. I broke most of them trying to get them out, but that's ok because the engine was trashed.

I just need to find a way to get in there then huh.. humm

I hope I can save them.. the side seal springs where working very good with the engine sitting around for over a year, so i guess there still good.

should I take the rotors apart? I noticed some spring pins..

ya know I am going to buy SOMEONES video when I start to rebuild the engine.

You really need to get a factory manual or at least the Haynes.

Housing looks toasted, can't tell on the e-shaft. You really do need a real camera.

Get the old corner seals out with a screw driver or old apex seal. Insert in the slot where the apex seals used to sit inside the corner seal and turn or rock slowly.

Side seals come out by using scrap side seals, a dentist's hook, pliers if you can get a slight edge on them, or something like that.

Suggestion To Get Better Pictures

I've had similar results when taking Close-Up's with my camera.

Try holding the camera further away from the object(s) you are trying to photograph... as much as 2 feet of distance may be required to get the subject in focus.

We'd like to see exactly what you've got now that you've split your motor...
