Well it would be good to know this before hand, but where would be the best place to cut it at? I'm thinking only one cut righ before the axel should do it? Does that sound about right?

That would likely allow the removal of the entire system, with the least amount of cutting.
Cutting it anywhere else, and you would likely need to cut again at the axle, to get the rear part off.

I would cut it at where you mentioned, just make sure you can get the back end high enough to get the over axel part out. Make a clean cut and use this type of exhaust "clamp". I use these, two, on my exhaust and they do work great. You can get them in most diameters.

ya I would like to be installing it back later ... I've never thought of taking it all out with the axle dropped. I might end up doing that. The rear axels are getting swapped out anyhow. Thanks

nice clamp, i have seen those used on "skidders before" skidders = big tractor that halls around 5 to 15 threes behind them

i completly forgot about those, they seem to work good and seeing as skidders move/get banged around lots they should wookd good on cars.
and to answer dj55b your ? yes you should cut it around at around 4" befor the top of the axale curve this will leave you enough room work with l8ter and should allow you room to remove it e-zly.
