Well since we are giving full details here on 2 cars...

Car 1 (Street) - Series 3 RX7 with custom 4 rotor kit from Jeff Bruce built from 12A parts. 2 x GT35 BB turbos. 6 pot Brembo brakes with 380mm discs front and 4 pot Brembo and 312mm brakes rear. 18inch gunmetal grey FR18 Simmons, 18x7 front and 18x10 back. Move rear suspension points inward and slight mini tub the back end to suit the tyres/rims. Borg Warner diff as in my current car. Haltech E11 of course. Standard body painted red. Grey interior with black inserts and decent stereo.

Car 2 (Race) - Series 3 RX7 with custom 4 rotor PP kit built from 13B parts. 4 x GT30 BB turbos running on methanol. GF2000 air shift box. Titanium full chassis. Strange 9 inch diff. 15x 4 Alumistar front and 15x15 Alumistar rears with 32 x 15 Hoosier rubber. Haltech E11. If it didnt run 6s, I would burn it to the ground

The real question is whether I want a 1st gen or a hybrid containing all the latest go fast gear.

To me, adding a 13bt, wide body and big wheels is like a greatgrandmother trying to wear miniskirts and a Britiney Speers top. Its like trying to build a funny car with a RX-7 shaped fibreglass shell.

With unlimited money I would still end upwith a stock looking Gen 1 with a few replacement part upgrades.

The 12a engine with mods restricted to streetporting, upraded Nikki carb and K&N filter.

The exhaust side a little more radical with a header and sports exhaust system.

Suspension Koni shocks, poly bushings, and RB springs.

A top respray and re-upholstered in original fabrics.

Keep to 14" alloy wheels with 205 tyres.

This would be a genuine Gen 1 with all its unique character.

Yesterday, while driving down a rural 2 lane highway I caught up with a really great Gen 1, a GSL Special Edition in its silver and black two tone paint and sunroof. At the next small town we pulled in and talked, His car was totally original with 80k on the clock. I do not think there was a modification that could improve the way it looked and went. We drove in convey some 25 miles at the legal limit including the corners! It was a great drive and no money could have improved it.

As a matter of interest the car was owned by a Policeman coming up for retirement, stationed in Sydney, and the vehicle was a great credit to him.

My dream setup i would have to say would be:

13bt, big turbo (i know nothing about turbos), nice exhaust (Very quiete, but very agressive sounding), no emissions, huge street port, completely modern computer system, do all the fancy briaded hoses, Completely stock exterior, 17" silver rims, and deep metal flake blue paint (entire car except around the front window trim, that would be chrome).

Yup *nods*
