What's a long-block 12A worth?

Found one for sale locally, didn't find anything when I searched (but my internet is being retarded).

Looks like it has everything from the clutch forward (carb, dizzy, etc). It's out of an 83 with supposedly 60k on it, but I think the front rotor is gone (no puffs at all when turned by hand).

He wants 250 for it, is that reasonable?

i am picking up a 12a this weekend, i am paying $200, for a 110,000km (canada) motor, doesn't have a clutch, but has 100 psi, both rotors. i think i found myself a steal though.

but i've seen 12a motors go from $150 to $600 running, good compression.

if you need a running motor, i'd look around, but if you just want something to rebuild, then maybe that motor is for you. hope that helps

Definitely reasonable, especially if it's a "running" motor. Around here a core in a junkyard will be $800CDN (about $700USD) condition unknown. So if I see one that cheap I grab it. However, in some places in the US, they're a dime a dozen. I'd get it, it's not a bad price for a core.

with the engine bad, I would say $100, If you want a bad engine.
A bit more if you need the Carb or other parts off it.

An unknown Junkyard Core here is $100.
