Whats going on??
i've had a very strange idle for a while now and ive posted a few threads to try and figure it out, but now i think ive got a lead to why its doing it..
the car will idle at 1k then drop to 0 and the car would shake like its gona die then jump back to 1k for a second and drop to 0 agian ect
i was first told it might have been a vacume leak so i checked everyhose couldnt find a leak, i also thought it might have been electrical. but i was getting sparks on all the plugs and i tuned and cleaned upt he points on the dizy, i also checked the fule line and all the filters are clean and enuf petrol seems to be getting in...
2night a friend was sitting int he passenger seat and said to me, "whys there a relay ticking down here??" so we listened to it and it was ticking in time with the idle.. so we follewed this tick and it was coming from a realy in the engine bay (the ones on the side wall next to the headlight reay) i havent a chance to look up what these are..
but.. does anyone know whats going on here? what are the relays and why are the messing with my idle???
thanks
Micky.

The pump could also be the cultrate, because as soon as I touch the accelerator it stops doing it. But I just had a new reconditioned carby put on abut 2 months ago, so I didn’t think it could be blocked up already.
An accleerator pump won't cause your problems.
Check your ignition systems, and it's also possible that your engine is running too lean, which is normally caused by a vacuum leak, but the fact that you put on a reconditioned carb also makes me think that it's not adjusted properly either.
