Early to mid 90's taurus or escort fans work well. I've got a 90 escort fan in my car and it works like a charm.

Grab a Ford Taurus V6 fan. I believe anything late 80's to mid 90's. It will wrap your face around the back of your head once it kicks on. I love mine. I can feel the fan running from 10 feet away behind the car....

OK GUYS! how did you get yours to fit? on mine, i have about 3" negative clearance between my e-fan motor and the water pump pulley.

did you guys mount the radiator at an angle or move it forward any?

That FC waterpump sticks out farther than an FB, only a couple inches though.
The "nose" is longer, probably to get it closer to the rad in the FC.
Most people on here have the 12a, which is also shorter, I don't know how that works in an SE, maybe the SE pump is shorter still.

I just scored a fan at the junkyard today also, going to try to install tomorro.

Correction; the FC is only about 3/8" longer, looks like more though, I have both pullies.

What are those two "bolts"? sticking out of the pulley?

Just did a quick measurement of the fan I got yesterday, it's 4.5in front to back, my 12a GS has 6.25in between the rad and the pulley.

I have a 13b waterpump and housing on my 12a and the thicker earlier model rad. It fits, but it is real tight.

You will need to take those pins or whatever it is sticking out of the pulley housing to get it in there. Though with the s4 13b you may have to put the fan to the side a bit, I've seen pics where people did that. Not sure how you mounted the engine in, but if it's in place of the 12a, I assume it'll sit 1cm further up? If so, it won't fit like I have mine, you'll have to get creative.

hmm the motor on my fan sticks out further than that... and i have taken those studs out... the pic i posted was kind of old... i'm gonna try and make this fan work by fabbing up some custom rad mounts to put it at an angle like in the fc.

oh the engine is an FC engine in place of the GSL-SE engine. so the mounting position should be identical to stock.

Well, if you're going to put it at an angle, you might as well get the FC rad.. A few folks have done it successfully in that configuration.

What's the difference? I thought 12A and 13B pumps had same part number.

The advantage was the aluminum housing, not the pump itself, really.. The pump is still cast iron, the one I got at least. The part number should be different, as the bolt pattern for the housing is slightly different, and the pulley bolt pattern is as well. The GSL-SE 13bs might be the same as the 12a, but not the FCs which is what I'm using..

I run a first gen pump with a second gen water housing. There is one bolt that does not match up and I tapped the water pump and ran a bolt into it.
