My personal opinion on first mods are suspension, brakes and steering. If these aren't up to par or better than oem, what's the point of adding go fast mods if one needs to find the nearest tree to stop. Brakes, steering then suspension, in that order.

Once those are taken care of, exhaust, ignition, carb/intake. After that, you need to crack open the engine for porting and a rebuild.

Yea new shocks and struts. New Tires and new bushing set for the whole car. New brake pads and rotors. That should be around 500-600 if you do all the work yourself.

How important do I feel the brakes suspension and shocks are, let me put it this way. Before I did the widebody install, I spent 1100 bucks in parts alone doing a complete upgrade of those 3 systems, then installed a used engine with a dowel pin leak, oops. Didn't know it had the leak before I installed it, but I knew the chassis was ready for any future engine install, short of a 300+ hp TII. Now that the turbo install is coming, I will be upgrading the front with a big brake kit including the 4 pot calipers.

Spending that kind of money on those 3 systems changed the entire character of the car. With the tires and wheels I have, I'll venture that the car can pull over 1 lateral g, which is better than a 3rd gen, fun fun.

I bet it will be better if you include changing your master cylinder also to something bigger say 1" from a RWD GLC. Thats going in my RX-3 which I may consider doing in my FB also if I ever do brake caliper upgrade.

TOo many RX's hurts my pocket sometimes.

Replace anything thats rubber or a wear item. At 27 years old it all needs to be replaced. I think that rule covers most of your money.

Wacky, thanks for the heads up and keeping me on track. It definiely helps to get advice from someone who's 'been there, done that'. Could you provide a part number for this master cylinder or perhaps a year for the GLC that works and will this be a direct bolt in? It's been so long since I've seen a GLC, I probably wouldn't recognize it, even if it ran me over on the street.

I am going to be doing slotted rotors (when I find a good pair), SS brake lines, and hawk pads (if they make them for us). maybe with the leftover I will buy a new muffler, mine sounds like its making metallic pinging noises.
