what is the white stuff in the oil fill stem?

some white goo has accumulated on the top inside of the oil fill stem. what caused this? what is it? how do you stop it?

Either it's:
a) lung mustard from lack of positive block ventilation or
b) you love your car waaayy too much

If it's (a), isn't there a thread from pratch or somebody on running a PCV absent of the rat's nest?

Look, just run a line from the tube that sticks out of the oil filler tube to the intake manifold....use a barrel PCV valve with the arrow pointed toward the intake manifold and that will solve your problems...

drill and install any small "L" fitting in your oil cap. simple solution.
