I had 4 wheels with tires mounted in the back of mine as I drove to Sears for a wheel swap. That was a little cramped.

It wasnt me, but it was my neighbour, same car I have now, he stacked the back full of sheep manure until it was full to the top. And of course, the neccesary case of beer in the front seat. The shocks in the back were almost to the floor. I already know what my car would look like lowered! LOL. It has never carried anything in it since.

iv had 5 people in my car. It sucked because my suspension is already so worn out. IT looked cool but we were riding on the bumpstops.

Mad fine girls though so it was worth it.

My '83 GSL helped me move from my old place to the new one. That's when I realized that there is a LOT of stuff that can fit in the hatch area.

In the '85 I had the entire drivetrain of the '80 in the hatch. If that wasn't enough, the engine was disassembled at the time (all the internals were in separate boxes) There was just enough room for me to sit in there and shift. The pic in my avatar is of my car all loaded up. The tranny went on the passenger seat, the engine and various boxes and the radiator and oil cooler and I think the header and flywheel went in the back. The electrical stuff (starter/alternator/MSD) and water pump went in the passenger footwell. The car handled very.... "interesting".

Later, I had my big toolbox (5' x 3' x 2' or thereabouts) stuffed most of the way in the back.

In the '80, when I moved to Columbus, I had my other toolbox (a three-parter) in there as well as the tools in separate boxes. As well as boxes of books and clothing.

Before that, I had the transaxle, driveshaft, and complete rear suspension/differential subframe assembly (including wheels/tires still bolted to the hubs) from my Subaru stuffed in the '80. Both times the hatch was closed. I did cheat both times, tho - I had the passenger seat out. It's only 4 bolts.

Before that, with passenger seat installed, I mvoed an incredible amounf of books and magazines in the '80. The car's suspension travel was completely used up, all bump absorption was with the tires. Handling was VERY "interesting"... let's just say that I do not recommend trying to take 270deg onramps at 65mph when your car has a total weight of about 3500lb

My crowning achievement, I think, was stuffing an entire 42" projection TV into my Subaru with the hatch closed. It was as if the car and TV were designed together, that's how close everything was. As it's not an RX-7, it doesn't count.

well the sheep **** is NASTY, and yea removing the seat is cheating a little. but still impresive. I have had countless rim tire combos in my hatch i forgot about that. i really wish i had a pic of the 2 deers in the hatch it was SO funny(as a hunter) i had the 2 heads sticking out and on the side of the car....facing the front. and had the hatch tied down. i got all kinda WTF looks at red lights . i have also moved 4 times from Atl. Ga. to Denver Co. in my rx7 (well tech 3 diffrent 7's 79,81,83) and only on 1 1way trip did i have a trailer. so i have MASTERED packing that bitch full.

I've got an REPU so I can't brag about what I've towed/hauled, but I while moving, I hauled an RX-2 12A and tranny, '84 LSD rearend, all my tools sans engine crane. Anyway, it was bouncy so I may have been on the bumpstops. 1400 LBS? I dunno. Towing cars is ok, even with my weaker-than-a-stock-12A 13B.

I haven't really hauled anything yet, but when my buddy towed my rex home from the car lot he was driving an old Samauri. We got some crazy looks for that one. His engine barely being any stronger than my dead one.
