Well as long as were talking about diff drain plugs, anyone have any suggestions on how to get mine out if the 3/8 square in the plug for the socket is now round?

Buy a new plug, then drive it to someone who can weld that socket extension in there

what ever you do....do not tap it out. Bouis has a wonderfull Idea with welding it. I had a friend have this exact same thing happen to him...He used an impact wrench to put it back on(don't say anything I don't talk to this guy anymore) so he used a tap to pull it out. Think about how wrong it is to run a tap in a diff. It lasted about 350 miles until all gears were completly F'ed up

Just weld a big bolt in there then you don't need a new plug.

that would actally be a great idea. just about half an inch of the thread and make the head as flush as possible. that might just be a great idea!
