A stock TII turbo is just right. Its a Hitachi T-18 and would be much easier to adapt to a 12A than a custom kit or a turbo off another car. Most factory turbos are way to small for a rotary(like T25s and such). The stock TII turbo is quite large in comparision with turbos off cars like Eclipses or Subarus.
An 89-91 (S5) TII turbo is the best and readily availble with the rotary specific factory exhaust manifold, for only 200-300 bucks.
Even a ported 12A will be able to move about 11-12 psi with a stock T-18 and you can upgrade the compressor on it to a full TO4.My is a TO4B hybrid S5 and moves 14psi easily through a ported 13B.A N/A 12A should be kept to about 10-12 and will require less CFM since its physically a smaller engine.

^ what he said. Get a TII turbo, your car should run a high 13sec 1/4 with a decent tune. It can push up to 17psi on a stock ported 12a, but I wouldn't push it past 15 on a stock motor. I tried running mine at 17psi for a while and the motor basically fell apart and destroyed itself. Then when you want more get the T04 compressor and a good built streetport 12a and it should run low 12's/high 11's.

i could see you putting 17psi to that poor engine.. lol

wut kind of intercooling did you have?

i bet with a huge FMIC and some c02 intercooler spraying 15-17psi might work for the strip reliably, my upcoming setup.

carl.
