What size speakers...

What size speakers come with the Fb (84' GSL). I want to buy some good aftermarket speakers. I bought my car without the factory radio and plan on getting a cd deck. I know the car has speakers in it just not sure what size. Look like 4.5 in frnt & 5.5" rear. Is this right? I don't think the stock 20yr old speakers can handle todays high output car stereos.

I just put 4" in the front and 6.5" in the rear, dropped right into the stock holes. Sony Xplod's have a ricey sounding name, but they sound great and arent too expensive.

There was an extreamly good thread on speaker efficiency. It explained that the better the speaker efficiency the less amps you need to power them. And we all know there isn't much room in our cars to begin with, so why not get good speakers and small amps.

I have a 7 speaker after market system in my white 7. Kenwood CD deck (5 CD changer in hole behind passenger seat & amp under seat) w/ the fronts, rear (separate mid & tweeters) & a bass tube. Sounds great for under $1,000.
Call Crutchfield & they can give you the specs for your car's speakers.
