Wait, you only have ONE belt?

ARGH

Go here and buy the dual alternator belt pully before that single belt breaks and your engine dies a horrible, heat-related death.

Isn't there still a cheapo $5 or so alt pulley you can get from a Mitsu that is dual belt and works for us? $44 is highway robbery for something you can order NEW for $5 from a mitsu dealer.

I may be wrong, but it should still be available.

Oh and to answer the question it's a 20" I believe. Sad, I just bought one today, but can't remember or find the receipt. Belt is already on the car and cardboard wrapper in the trash.

Here is what you need to do. Its cheaper than getting a Dual alt, and works the same if not better.

Get a belt size 3L 220

The 3L220 is also known as a "Yoohoo Belt" and is much better than a dual alt pulley, both in terms of price and performance. Consider this: nominal belt size is not the same thing as actual belt size...belts of the same named length are actually slightly different in length. If you try and run them paired, either one will be loose and slip or the other will be too tight. An overtensioned belt will damage bearings (WP, Alt, front main) in the long run and may even break. And, if it does break, there is a 9 in 10 chance it will take out the other belt too! Hense, little or no redundancy advantage.

The Yoohoo Belt has many, many times more Water Pump pulley conact area than even a dual alt pulley setup, so it can be somewhat loose and still do it's job well. It will generally not be taken out by a broken alt belt, so you can continue to drive until your battery dies...the Water Pump will continue to work. This means you can make it to the next exit or to a parking lot or whatever is convenient, instead of abandoning the car where it sits or overheat it by limping along without a WP.

As I said, nominal length is not the same as actual length. Sometimes you have to try a few 3L220s to find the "right" one. Ideally, you do this in the parking lot of the hardware store, so you can try one and exchange it on the spot.

We have been running Yoohoo Belts for 20+ years with great success. Recently, however, we came up with a superior belt to the venerable 3L220. This one is stronger and fits more consistently, nice and snug, and does not seem to stretch out over time. Cost is considerably higher ($15), but it's worth it. Still a fraction of the cost of a dual alternator pulley.

Just "walk" it on. Put it all the way around the main pulley and as far as you can around the waterpump pulley, then use a 19mm socket on a breaker bar to turn the crank. As the crank turns, the WP pulley will turn and the belt will walk onto the pulley. You may have to guide it a bit, say with a screwdriver, but it's not that hard. If it's really tight, go exchange it for another. Same thing if it is really loose. A little loose is okay, because there is soooo much contact, but some 3L220s are so loose as to be worthless.
