what a relief !

pulled out the 7 this morning....reversed out the drive....into the road, and suddenly a metallic scraping/rattling/knocking sound from the rear !
drive slowly down the road and it goes away....stop at the stop street...nothing. pull away and there it is again ! what the hell could it be ? diff giving up on me ? bearing about to disintegrate ? I stop at the petrol station...check for anything loose in the back. nothing. I pull away...the noise is still there.
back home, i get underneath the car. turns out the rear muffler is secured by two rubber clamps. one of them had broken off...meaning the muffler was a bit to the right...so the metal was knocking against the body. quick replacement of the rubber and alignment of the muffler...noise all gone ! what a relief it was nothing more serious.

there is nothing worse than the feeling of 'oh ****..something's broken...damn...there goes $$$ to fix it...damn'

and then the huge relief when its fixed and it was something completely minor

i don't know about you guys...but can hardly sleep if something is wrong with my ride...i have to fix it (or have it fixed) pronto
