Didnt racing beat have a 20B Miata?
And I read somewhere that AMC was gonna put it in the pacer?

Story goes that this engine was made for an AC compressor. He bought it new in the box with a LP setup on it. He was told that it has Cermanic Seals from the factory.
Price for the engine was $900.

I already suggested that, but thanks for mentioning the 6-wheel carrier.

Yep, he did swap out Ro80 engines for Ford ones, then to find out he had a pile of the old rotaries in his shed. So they raced them, got to know them, and now they are among the most important specialists in Europe.
There's some controversy about their parts, but a very experienced rotary driver overhere said he used their seals in one of his Ro80's years back, and it's still his strongest pulling engine. When I rebuild one of my Ro80 engines I'll sure use their seals.

if someone is intrested in old rotary parts, check out my thread in the european section of the forum on the Ro80 parts I just got my hands on. I also bought a second Ro80, but no pics yet as it still has to be delivered.
Here are a few pics of some rare rotaries. I know some of them have already been mentioned but at least now you can see what they all look like.

3 years 3 months and nearly 22 hours later...How the hell did you ever find this post? I guess it is true when they say once you post something online, it is there forever...
Nice find on the pics though....just wanted to give a hard time a little!

@nobodymv Haha LOL I have a knack of resuscitating dead threads without knowing. Google found this old thread whilst doing research on the Mazda Roadpacer.
Your right, once you post something online........its there forever.....

7 out of those 10 cars ARE local. Cheers Stu ;-)

Johnson snowmobiles used rotary engines in some of their sleds too I dont think its the same engine as the Sachs that Artic Cat used. Team Johnson build a sled called the twin rotor that matted up two of the Johnson single rotor motors in one chassis. It was so fast they pretty much wrote it out of the rule books. Supposed to sound like a stock car going around the track. Heres a few pics

Totally cool!! Thanks for posting some interesting pics...
Great pix from back when EVERYONE was stuffing rotaries into, well, anything. Sad really, what could have been. BUT - makes the 7's that much cooler for it, so it's all good

well heres a 20b Tricycle out of puerto rico, enjoy....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMUdPBe-Mug
Damn that RE 5 was sweet. It was only a single rotor though. I'd like to see one with a twin rotor 12A, or even a 3 rotor 20B or what about.......................a 20G? I dare say a motorcycle with a 20G would be faster than the Dodge Tomahawk. Gives me chills LOL
