once the nut is off (hardest part) any puller medium-sized will work, don't quote me

No need to get a puller; instead get a good size rubber mallet. Just loosen the flywheel nut, give it a good whack and the flywheel will come loose. The nut will keep the flywheel from falling on your chest while your under the car.

Well, thread the nut back on part way, take a 2lb ballpeen hammer and smack the edge of the flywheel missing the ring gear. Tada.. should come off in a few smacks, ask how is this posible, cause the flywheel is sitting on a tapered shaft. I have tore up many rental heavy duty pullers with no luck.

Your only gonna need a puller if the flywheel is really stuck on there. Try it with a dead blow hammer first. This has worked for me on the last 4 engines. Although I do member' someone who was having a hell of a time.

Gear pullers wont do **** for a flywheel. Put the nut back on a couple of threads like was stated earlier. And do someting like this.

And once its nice and tensioned up, whack it with a mallet. When its loose youll know, so will your neighbors.

Well the bar goes across the flywheel, the bolts thread in, and the little block (any piece of metal will do) acts as a spacer. Tighten the bolts good and tight to put pulling tension on the flywheel. It might come off right there, if not, a few whacks with a mallet should do it.

Just use a hammer and hit it hard by the ring gear (not on the ring gear). I have spent days trying it the other way, when just a hit with a hammer did it.

turn the nut a few threads, hit it with a large hammer, turn 1/8 turn, hit it again, turn , hit, keep repeating. Dont hit the teeth... It will come off... I never had a problem with this procedure...

The aforementioned one, I have stripped and broke bolts off doing that...

rx7carl, that is bad ***. I had to take the flywheel off a t2 engine. Had a screw driver wedged in it to keep the flywheel from spinnin, a 6ft breaker bar with me jumpin on it, and a friend standing on the side of the engine trying to keep it from rollin... Got it open tho....
