The Monel conductor in the MSD set doesn't last as long as the 300+. I've had both types...the 300+ set has stayed flexible longer and didn't discolor which is a sign of heat, aka. electrical resistance, in the wire. That said, the MSD set is still on my Parents' '85 GSL...I just wouldn't run another set on my personal rex...

Ok, now Im starting to worry...When I ordered the wires for my car, I just went into the store and said I need Accel wires for my car, part number such and such. The part number I gave them is the part number someone here on the forum said was for the 12A. I have the wires, and theyre installed and work great (they only have like 20 minutes on them ), but in a catalog I have, it lists different part numbers for the different cars, and different prices too...Do they actually use different types of wire for different applications? I thought it was all the same stuff? Heres what I have in my catalog...
Accel 300+ Thundersports
74-78 (1.3L 13B 1308cc) - #7930 $30.99
71-78 (1.1L 12A 1146cc) - #7930 $30.99
93-96 (1.3L RE13BTT 1308cc) - #7932 $26.99
87-92 (1.3L 13BET 1308cc) - #7931 $29.99

84-85 (1.3L 13B 1308cc) - #7930 $30.99
79-85 (1.1L 12A 1146cc) - #7920 $52.99
(add Y,R, or B at the end of the part number for Yellow, Red, Or Blue. Example, 7930Y)
Ok, I ordered the 7930Y, and got them for like $30 at B&B. Anyway, the REAL wires I should have ordered were the 7920Y, but theyre like $20 more also...I dont get it...Maybe it has something to do with points instead of electronic ignition...

The Accel 300+ race series has a universal kit fo V8's. More than enough wire to set up a DLIDFIS system, but you'll have to order two more coil boots. They may be just sitting on the wall at your local O'Reilly's, for that matter...

The early 12a engines had two, yes (2), distributors, one for trailing and one for leading. The wires you ordered are for that setup.
