Just want to know your opinions.. I have a 83 GS.

My mods are :
Dellorto Carb
RB exhaust system

Tokico Shocks with springs

my engine is a 12A, non streetported..

In terms of performance, what should i get now to increase power on my car?

The thing that made me hesitate is that my 12a is running very good.. I thought that run the 12a would be the best solution for next summer. BTW, T.J., it'd be cool that you keep your little comments like those for yourself, thanks

Thanks!

I would say a few hundred US dollars. Ive seen them more at some places, and less at others. But for some reason, about $300 USD pops into my head...

That sounds good to me, a reasonnable price.. Do you know a good place in canada near quebec-ontario that could make the streetport on my engine, and how many power does it give to the car? Actually, as you know by my mods, i should be around 150hp.

Thanks

Yea, but dosen't street porting requires rebuilding the motor. OK, I suppose you could take it apart, port it and put It back together without replacing anything, but once you've gone to the trouble of taking the engine apart, you might as well rebuild it.... this adds to the price considerably.

Yeah, basic rebuild kits from Atkins Rotary are on Ebay all the time "Buy It Now" for $495. So that, on top of the porting cost, and any labor (like if you dont put it back together or take it apart yourself) will really make the price go up. From what I recall, a good street port is capable of an extra 50 HP or so...I may be wrong though, thats just what I remember reading somewhere.

If i need to rebuild it, it's going to cost a lot.. The reason why I thought about make it port is that i have a problem on my engine, it runs well until 6000rpm, and after that, the guy who sold the car to me told me that it doesn't run very good at 6000+.. I read a little bit on comments that members had post on the gsl-se, and they all said that it was a lot different than a 12A, more enjoyable.. Maybe with some good help, I should put my 13B in it..

the 12a is a fine engine. but without a port job, it's not gonna do much above 6k rpm anyway. i have almost the same setup as you do, and on the dyno, the 12a piddled out around 6-6.5k. it's the ports holding you back. stock ports won't flow much more than that. now heres a suggestion.... why not take your time, rebuild and port the 13b, and run the 12a in the meantime. then, when it's all perfect, swap out the engines. the dellorto carb will work fantastic on the 13b(especially a ported one), but you'll probably have to get a new header. then, sell the 12a and get a little bit of your money back.

no prob at all! i had an SE with my carb setup on it and a big ole streetport, rb exh, light flywheel... the works. that thing would blow thru first gear in about a second or less, and burn the tires into 2nd and 3rd. it was fun beating up on the local v8's with it!
