What model

ok, i have owned my FB for about a month and half now, and was never really sure about what model it was. i am really curious about it now. it is a 1982 FB. with power mirriors, and a sun roof. i am not sure if that helps at all, but if it does, and you know what model it is, or if there is a way for me to find out, please let me know.

damon: how can you say its a GSL based soely on the fact that it has power mirrors and a sunroof? My 83 GS has power mirrors and a sunroof and its not a GSL. Like error402 said, what kind of brakes are in the back? thats the easiest way of telling what you have.

Well you don't have a GSL then. Sounds more like you have a GS. Do you have power windows? Lets see how far down the line we can go. :rof: At this rate you'll end up with a S.

damon, if you have drums its not a GSL, someone either put a GS rear in there (no one would be dumb enough for that) or just put a GSL emblem on in an attemt to trick people.

As mentioned earlier...someone ethier swaped out to a lower grade rear end, or someone placed the wrong lables on your car.

How odd....check the VIN at carfax or sumtin.

My car doesn't have the GSL badge on the rear...only on the side...the pillars or whatever you want to call them.

...and damnit, my brother backed up into my car last night. -_-

damon - I hope i didn't offend you, if i did I'm sorry, but I would find it hard to believe someone would waste their time replacing the rear end that we're all after with the one we all wanna get rid of. Anyone know a sure fire way of determining it? I guess the VIN would do it, not sure how though.

Are all FBs a 33 series? In the vin the # after the type (in our case FB) is a body style code that may contain options (GS, GSL, etc.) or not - that's a bit loosey-goosey even in the standardized VIN system (f'rinstance Passenger Car can be a '1' or a '3' depending on origin)
