is it possible for an 83 dash to fit into a 79?? i dont really care about keeping the stock radio in there or the ac conrtols if that effects the fit, since the ac is broken anyway and after the swap im planning on not runnin ac at all, and i have an aftermarket stereo. thanks

 

I think 79 shifters sit alot further up,just take a look at both and compare,I just found out the 83GSL I got for a friend a while back does not have the original dash its a 84/85 dash

 

its just the dashboard though, not the area around the shifter.

 

you should have no problem doing it.. i think they are the same dash
