I could probably use some help in this area also. I have been running well, but rich, for some time and I decided to dive back into re-tuning my carb after I could no longer stand driving with the windows up (and neither could passenger!). I have a 600cfm 4bbl 4160 series holley with vacuum secondaries. I am running a 2.5" power valve and #60 jets (I had #64s before). After changing the jets down I went to getting my idle mix screws set just right. It will now idle rock solid after car is warmed up and throttle response is ok also. When car is cold though it will not idle unless I keep my foot into it slightly (starts up fine, just wont stay running). I know this is because of me needing to hook up my choke but I was wondering if #60 jets might still be too much? I am running a 12a with all emissions removed, stock header and straight pipe (2.25") back to a magnaflow muffler. My simptom when cold is that there is a hesistation like it is getting too much fuel. Is that common for when it is cold? Thanks.
