There's a lot of things.

Hell, I originally got an RX-7 partly because I couldn't find a cheap MGB. I still want one, too, but the things that interest me nowadays requrie a fixed roof and if you thought MGBs were expensive, price out an MGB-GT!

No RX-7? Cosmo Sport would be the choice.

No rotary engines?, perish the thought!

but if that were the case, I would probably get a sunbean tiger, they are about the same size as a cobra they also came converted with a ford v-8, and their price tag is not nearly as high for an original good condtion model as the cobra is.

I hear ya on the straight 6 sound. Its just sooooo mesmerising (sp?). Anyway, if I didn't have the 7, I'd probably be tinkering on a MK II supra, 280Z/ZX, or an '87 Buick Grand National or Regal t-type. That turbo 3800 is just an amazing engine with soooo much more potential than most engines out there. Also, probably my '97 T-Bird with 4.6 V8.

I really don't care for all those **** early to mid 90's imports. My boss owns a '90 300ZX and I never like the styling. But since he put the Veilside body kit on it, it looks, well, not much better.

I'd say my old Ford F-100, an old 240, a Fox Bodied Mustang GT, or ATVs/Motorcycles.

A Plymouth Sapporo (kudos to anyone who knows what that is )

Mazda's 323s are nice, as are the old Z cars. I still like my big trucks and muscle cars, too

I'd be driving my old civic right now if I hadn't have gotten the 7. it wasn't that bad, fully tricked out. Body kit rims head and tail lights stereo exhaust everything but a engine swap, but I did that to the seven

I know where you can get a good price on one, but you'd have to ship it from toronto...

Yeah, I'm post whoring. Serves me right for not reading the entire thread.

The one car I really miss is my '89 323 LX. The interior was nicer than a lot of new econo-boxes, it was straightforward to work on, got good mileage, fit TONNES of stuff in the hatch, and took a licking and kept on ticking. I'd jump on a rust free 5-speed one.

I had a 86 323 LX. It definitely took a licking and kept ticking. Well over 200k before it met an untimely end.

I too would go for the older S30 chassis Z cars. The Z31 and on weren't cool at all. The only other Japanese Sports Car I would nod my head to.

Umm my other choices would probably be some early 90s or late 80s Lotus Esprits, or an 80s TVR Roadster. I've been able to track them all down for cheap and considered them, bt I'd rather look for the perfect 7 instead (prolly dumb, but oh well)

I just happened to see one of those at the library the other day. Couldn't believe it was a Datsun. Very cool ride.

I'd go with a early-'80s Porsche 911 I guess. Something Subaru might be fun.

My 323, unfortunately, did NOT take a licking and keep on ticking.

The build quality on it is AMAZING for a base model car. It's like an FC interior, but it doesn't fall apart when you look at it

But, the damn Ford 4 Speed transmission is a piece of ****.

I'm trading it, with busted tranny, tomorrow for said Plymouth Sapporo.
2 Kudos to PATZ for knowing about this awesome car.
Next to the Mustang, it's probably one of the last RWD Economuscles. In all honesty, though, this thing is ANYTHING but economy (nor is it American!)
It gets HORRIBLE times, though, for what it is. A "Fox" Mustang sized, RWD, 2300 pound car, with a 2.4 litre FOUR BANGER, getting 17's?! Rediculous!

In Australia, it's sold as the Mitsubishi Scorpio, or something along those lines, and in Japan is the Econosport version of the Galant (Called the Galant GSL, of all things).

Just for anyone that's curious

My girlfriends dad has an all original, with the exception of webbers for the SUs, '72 MGB-GT that he bought in England while in the airforce, and to think it might become a wedding gift.

It's a very nice and a very small car, but still badass.

Celica All track gt-4, R100, or Rx-3.

Maybe even an old Porsche 928 or Toyota Supra late 80's version. The 3l turbo that looks like a series 3 but only longer.
