What exactly is a SA limited cluster? Other SA part prices

Seen this mentioned on the for sale forums. I know the 80 has a limited edition I think leather edition? But it said it was a 120mph which would be a 79. I'm curious I have one that's from a 79 I want to price accordingly. What's the going rate on one? How about SA complete bumpers front and back? Center console and other interior parts minus dash? I stripped a 79 and I got a butt load parts I need to sell.

Most '79 interior pieces sell for pennies and they come with free shipping.

Seriously though, something is only worth what a person is willing to pay.
Is this stuff maroon (harder to find in good to mint condition) or black?
If it's maroon and the carpet is in good condition hit me up, we can talk about prices some more. Send pics if maroon.

SA parts aren't that hard to find, "NICE" SA parts are less available. Price depends on condition vs. how bad you want the cash. In 79, they made 3000 "Limited" models. The gage cluster was identical to a normal car except that it had a digital clock instead of a dial with hands. A good buying price for a regular cluster is $25-50. Things like bumpers can be a hard sell due to the costs of shipping. Plus, the typical SA/FB parts buyer does not have a ton of disposable income to throw around. The hard dash piece to get is an original uncut stereo surround pannel. Most were modified for an aftermarket cassett or CD player.

Don't have any uncut SA ones, but I do have 4 or 5 uncut FB ones 81-83 and 2 nice 84-85 ones. I'm keeping the S3 ones tho. The others are possible sells. What they go for?

The only thing that made a 79 Lmt Ed was the digital clock, slightly different wheels, and the Bet Black paint. I owned a stock one, but it unfortunately found a brick wall one rainy day. She ended up being a parts donor to the one put together and given to Mazda in Irvine now parked in the fabled basement.

Yes, you are correct, those were all differences but not the only ones. The pin stripes were unique to the 79 Limited, as were also the grey velour seat inserts and matching door panels. The stereo was specific and it had an amp under the passenger seat and 4 speakers in the system. The steering wheel and shift **** were leather wrapped. That Beat Black paint code has never been used on any other Mazda vehicle before or since. Otherwise, it was your basic GS with a 5 speed, air and a sunroof. Oh, the B-pillar badges were specific of course too.

Mazda USA have one? I was not aware of that vehicle. I collect tidbits on the Limiteds I see that come up for sale and know of on these forums. Out of the 3000 produced, I'm only aware of about 12 or so complete, road worthy cars out there. I'm sure there are more still tucked away but just how many is anyone guess.

Then you'd love the one Mazda USA has.

The guy who did the restoration used two 79 Lmt Ed to make one good one. He was so meticulous that he searched until he found a set of original Bridgestone raised white letter tires (hah, you missed that one ). I don't think I'd want to drive freeway speeds on those tires, but that car never see's the road anyway.

Mine was always garaged but was in donor status due to the brick wall event, so the interior plastic pieces were in excellent shape for his project and available. Knowing what his intentions were, I just let him pull everything he needed and I even bought HIM dinner. Cool guy, he just gave it to Mazda asking nothing in return despite it was all on his dollar (a whole lot of dollars). And it wasn't like he had lots of money laying around being a just graduated college student. He just felt it needed to be done.

More

In his dedication he named the car. As far as I know only two people are aware of that name, and I'm one of them. By your comments, somehow I think one day you'll grow that number to three.

You are absolutely correct, I totally missed that one! Good catch, those tires were also used on the following years LS cars and even some 81 models. Hopefully, someday I'll have an opportunity to check that car out.

Come to the next SevenStock and with the right phone calls you can do them both. I think I'll call Mazda HQ and find out just what protocall there is to get a basement tour.
