I find it hard to even brake grip in very "spirited" driving with the Sumitomos... a very good/inexpensive tire IMO.

Sumitomo HTR200 on the LE wheels

HTR 50 on my Fat Wheels.

Sams brand on my 79.

Sumitomo HTR200 205/60-13s on stock rims

Much wider than stock tires
They stick well, but I feel they could have better wet traction. It's better than stock but it could be improved.

Overall very happy with the tires, especially for the cost and the fact that they fit stock rims. When my -LE rims are done they'll be getting the same type in an appropriate size.

I see that I am going to invest in some Sumitomo HTR200 205/60-13s. Gotta be better than autoxing in my tall all season radials. Plus they are really cheap on tirerack.com.

What's the widest rubber you can fit on stock wheels? 205's?

"I see that I am going to invest in some Sumitomo HTR200 205/60-13s."

The Sumitomo HTR200 205/60-13s are about an inch shorter than the stock 185/70/13's, so they won't fill out your wheel well, look kind of funny in my opinion. They also make your speedometer inaccurate and have a negative impact on gas mileage and handling. But they are wider, if that's your thing.

I like the Yokohama Avid Touring 185/70/13's, exceptionally smooth ride, great wet and dry traction, very reasonably priced (a best seller) and they come with an 80,000 mile tread life guarantee.

Turns out I got more than 80,000 on my last set, so I couldn't collect on the guarantee. But I sure like them better than those mini-Sumitomo HTRs, they just look better:
