What do you think of my gauge install?

Here are a couple pics of my gauge install, what do ya's think? I did it like this because I hadn't seen it done anywhere else, and it's very functional. Two good things, in my book.

First pic

Second pic

Third pic

Fourth... well, you know. This pic used a 6 sec exposure (i think) so it's actually brighter than it is in reality.

Is it easy to look at the gauges?

I love your gauges. They look very unusual because they are attached to the door. Extremely unique and professional. Nice work.

Hmmmm... im my opinion, the guages look functional and easy to see, yet out of place. I do however think it would kick *** if someone would come up with a guage pod that would put the guages in a similar location, giving it a more stock look.

The red lighting in the cluster is stock. It's just not usually that bright.

My arm doesn't block the gauges at all while driving. A quick glance over will let you know quickly that everything is normal. It's no different to a quick look in your side mirror, and seems kinda natural because of that.

I really love the look of the chunky mounting style that Autometer use. I think it looks cool, which is why I decided against a more stock look. I originally had the gauges in an aluminium panel in the center console. Which is still nice, but I like this too.

Some day I'll go with a custom aluminium dash and full autometer setup just like Dale (10sec_rx7) has done. It just looks soo sweet done that way. It's also more suitable to the street racer look i'm going for.

Thanks guys!

Don't your hands hit the guages? The look too close to the actual steering wheel.

Sorry, but I don't like the setup.
Not that you didn't do a good job at mounting them.

What can I say, just good taste I 'spose!

Thorin, I plan on hitting the track in the future (the ones that join back onto themselves at the end of the lap...) so I like to think it does mean business.

Not a bad idea. You'll get the oil pressure coming up too!

I took a pic of the headlight coming up, with a lengthy exposure that looks alright.

Well acutally... The rest of the dash is not in the pics for a reason. At the moment the dash top is badly cracked, and will need to go in for some leather soonish. The center console section needs to be replaced to cover some holes, and i'll move the stereo to the top.

It doesn't look too bad, but needs some more work. I can live with all of it as is, except the huge cracks.
