What do you think of my door panels?

One of the previous owners of my car must not have been a big fan of red interior, so they made an attempt to die the carpet black, etc...

However, they didn't do anything with the panels. My two favorite colors are black and red, but I think the interior had a little too much red. So I decided to play around a little with it. Not much else I can do when the car doesnt' run. That'll be fixed soon to.

what do you think?

thanks for all the compliments. Yes, it's sort of a vinyl die, spray on. It seems like it will hold up nice. The thing I was worried about the most was if it would flex with the vinyl when it's moved or bent. I'm doing the entire interior like this, with a red/black scheme. I hope t all turns out ok. What I really need is another headliner. With its age, it hasn't faired too well. That and the dash, has a sizable crack right above the guage cluster, so I need to get a cover for it. It's coming along though.

Wow looks good! Finally a custom interior thats simple. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID! It kind of reminds me of the Honda S2000 scheme when done in red and black. Take a pic of the product you used. Was it a simple 1 step spray on? Also I put my hand over my monitor where your carpet is!! Try it, then dye the lower carpet on the door black. Or not

Really? How is the paint holding up? Did you just do the doors or did you do all the non-leather trim? BTW thecause, Looks great and I have the same color interior on my SE - including the vinyl fading problems that have been well documented - as noted earlier, are you going to tell us the name of the product?

The stuff I've been using was made by a company called Mar-hyde. It's just called Vinyl Color Spray. Seems to work really nice. I know Plasti-coat makes a similar spray as well.

The only think I'd suggest, is that in my mind, if you do the armrest in black, do the ... handle-thingy in black too. (meaning the handle that your hand would grab if your arm was on the rest... not the handle to open the door)

Other than that, great job.

Well, yes, I was going to do that, but I have a reason for not doing so.

I was looking at that as a high wear area. Hands pulling on it, possibly rings on fingers. I don't have enough confidnence in this stuff yet to think it would stand up to a lot of wear. The handle is no biggie to touch up though, so I guess I could do it. It pops right off. I'm still deciding on that though.
