What do you pay for car insurance?
Hey,
I'm curious to know what everyone here on the board pays for their insurance on their first gen's, and what type of coverage and monthly payment each of you have/make. Also list how old you are and the name of your insurance agency. I was recently with Allstate paying 682 bucks for 6 months for just liability coverage on my 89 Beretta and on my 81 RX7. I'm 21 years old. Allstate says that I'm paying 417 for the Beretta and 265 for the RX7. I asked them why the Beretta GT costs more and they told me that it is considered a "hot little sports car". I told the lady that it's pretty much the other way around. They just don't get it. I'm switching companies since I can get a lower premium with some company called GMAC. Oh well lemme get some ideas of what you all pay people. Thanks.

Well, it's tough to compare insurance costs from person to person because there are so many factors that effect your premium. Your age, marital status, driving record, other drivers in household, all have an effect. As for myself though I am 26, I have liability (15k/per person,30k/per accident, 5k/property) and PIP (personal injury protection) coverage. I pay $960 a year in New Jersey. I paid $804 for the same car in Michigan. Insurance company is NJ Cure.

Things probably work a bit different up here, but I'm insured for everything but collision...meaning that if it's my fault, I pay for the repairs to my car. I pay $81 canadian per month, and I'm 23. I think the value of the car also keeps the premiums so low. For most of us, if we were to wreck our cars, the insurance companies would probably just write it off and send us a check for a thousand dollars or something.

Y'all got it good. I pay $1296 a year on my beat-up Honda Accord and only like $400-something on the 7. Never figured that out. Liability only on both. I'm 20 and live in New Jersey.

I am at Prudential, and they just cant get their **** together. After I convinced them that I have experience with this type of car (I don't know what the hell that means, but I told them this was my 17th stick-shift car), they are charging me 191 every six months for liability and underinsured. I checked with Allstate, and they only want 100. Oh, I am 37, married, father of three, have 3 cars and a boat, own a home with a policy with the same company, no tickets, no claims, and I live in Idaho. I think that covers most of the variables. Oh, I also have a concealed weapon permit, I have a vascectomy, and my gall bladder removed, but I'm not sure if those things matter.

Got Boost?
$360 for 6 months liablity and bodily injury only. I'm 21, and live in Utah, no traffic violations, no girlfriend, no drastic surgeries, and still think I'm paying too much for insurance.

I used to pay about $280 a year for the 1st gen with my old company (Nationwide) who was extremely expensive. (I carry high liability, like 300/300/100). Now paying about 1200 a year for the audi full coverage and 800 a year for the FD full coverage with 200/500 comp/coll. deductible with State Farm. 25 male, and single.
