what do you guys think of the low budget front brake upgrade

here is the front brake kit ive been making.. its a nice looking low budget upgrade that removes over 10 pounds of unsprung weight.....

http://www.imagestation.com/picture...9f/f3351608.jpg

in this pic you can see not all of the brake pad gets used, im not sure if that will be a problem...

http://www.imagestation.com/picture...f4/f335160b.jpg

its a simple bracket, a wilwood 4 piston caliper, and a custom brake line... it utilizes the stock brake rotor so you dont have to convert to 5 lug or spend tons of money on aftermarket rotors // and hubs// and hats

http://www.imagestation.com/picture...e0/f335160e.jpg

and the brakes look nice too

does this brake kit ur planning to sell will decrease overall braking performance?? i'm asking because when you do any kind of brake upgrades on any car (such as your setup), you usually gain more unsprung weight.
removal of 10 lbs per side does sound good though.

pics don't work btw.

10 pounds of BS

When I converted my 1st gen to the 2nd gen brakes, the 4 piston aluminum caliper weighed almost exactly the same as the original single piston caliper. Then there is the weight of the adapter bracket. If you used the same rotors, where did you save 10 pounds?

What was the actual measured weight of the parts you took off?

What was the measured weight of the parts you put on?

Did you fill the car with helium baloons?

I think if you can fab a bracket to use the stock TII/GXL calipers with 4 lug rotors, it would sell like hotcakes.. Just gotta find the right size 4 lug rotor with a hub and you're in like Flint.

that was a good one ken!!!!! LOL
this was one of the rotaryshack experiments that we did so i thought i would share... yes the pads are bigger than the rotor so who knows what that will do but we will find out...
again, this is a low bubget brake upgrade that didnt cost much to make... $40.00 in brackets, $250.00 in calipers and pads, $35.00 for the braided brake line... 4 grade 8 bolts and nuts... done that seems low budget to me...

here is the pics again....

Man, if you could put a slightly bigger disc on there to use the full brake pad that would be awesome....
