don't know never done it.. but I would think that you could drop the interior roof down to get to it. If you don't want to do that /shrug idk.

Yah, I cant remember if its a nut or a clip...
But you dont need a welder, you do however need to drop the headliner down as said above. Once its down it should be easy.

You could put a fiberglass patch underneath, then fill the hole with bondo.

You must of been confused when you wrote your title. Because it is asking how to get the rear nozzle off. That's ok though. I'll fix that for you.

because that's a narrow band of metal between hatch and sunroof, and subject to a bit of flex, I'd recommend welding in a patch. Bondo in that location might experience some stress cracks over time.

Oh I thought that you were going to put it back. Sorry about that.

Patch under, and bondo, the welding could be done if you wanted to use steal for the under patch before using bondo. It would be stronger to weld a patch under neith

hmm, i definately would want it welded. i wouldnt want the bondo to crazy and leave me with a hole into my cabin. might make rainy days a pain i think ill leave it for now and eventually take it to where i can get a patch welded in

Definatly weld a little patch in and smooth it out with some bondo (or other filler) Just be very careful not to get it to hot when welding as to avoid warping the metal.

Put one of those mid 80's cell phone antennas there in stead

Or better yet, a nitrous purge

Oh yea..... epoxy, small square of sheet metal and bondo are your friends.

hammer weld it you wont need any bondo... all you need is a toruch body hammer dolly and a fill rod... hammer it smooth and there you go no more hole

Two options that don't involve bodywork:

1. Install a Fuba antenna -- the angled roof-mount style that WV uses. I have one on my car. (You will have to plug your antenna hole, of course, which makes this option most attractive if you're installing a rear spoiler that will cover the hole)

2. Get an appropriately sized plastic Christmas tree, use silicone underneath it to keep it watertight, and use a nut on the bottom side to hold it snug, mostly while the silicone cures.

I'm planning on putting a shark antenna there. I've got an Audi one laying about. Saves the weight of the stock power antenna as well.

That would be a rather amusing sight.

Mine has a small piece of electrical tape covering the hole. It keeps the rain out.

Mine was filled with silicone when i got her. I want to do that euro antenna in there. If i wasn't i would use a welder and a patch to fill it.

Pull the headliner, remove the sprayer, find a thin piece of metal (tractor supply) and hold it from the back side and tack it into place from the top side. Smooth out tack, and apply a small amount of body filler (I like to use POR products. They have a body filler like bondo but has fiber glass in it.) smooth out, sand, and re apply until you get it where you want it.

Or instead of using a metal backing plate, just fill the hole with the welder, grind smooth and use your filler.

It is not hard, but I have a nice welder in my garage.
Pull your headliner out and run up. I have a new bottle of gas on the welder so
I can weld that and be done in about 5 mins.

3. Remove it for paint and then reinstall it. I replaced my hatch glass with a wiperless version, left the nozzle, and it looks fine.
