What Did You Get For Your Car For Valentines Day?

Well I got some seat covers from my G.F. They are blue and black. Complement my interior.

Not really a Valentine's day present, more of a "crap I need to get this done" type deal.

Holesawed the hockey pucks on Friday, assembled one of the struts, would have done both had I brought the other cartridge kit to work with me.

Today I bought a nice F2 oil filter ('88-91 Mazda 2.2l, it's longer than the stock filter) and five quarts of 5W20 Castrol GTX. Didn't get to do the oil change since I was too busy trying to figure out how changing the starter in my roommate's Grand Am caused an awful running problem, without aid of a scope or a scantool. (Checked/replaced obvious things that could have been/have been bodged by removing the starter - GREAT place for a crank sensor, guys! GM gets two fingers up for that braindeadedness)

On the 14th had to spend time with the wife and goto work, so the project got neglected, but it knows I care
Thursday, I made a throttle cable holder for the weber carb.
Friday I welded the exhaust from the muffler over the axel. 2.5 inch mandrel bends welded together to go over the axle. Now, I'm waiting for more exhaust piping and flanges from JCW.com. Then, I will go from in front of the axle to the presilencer finishing up at the back of the turbo.

Installed a new power window rack and welt seal for the driver's side window glass. I've had the parts sitting in the garage from Mazdatrix for about 3 months now, and finally got around to it at 9pm last night.

I still have the passenger side to do today (tonight?). Went pretty smoothly and I'm hoping that it'll cut down on some of the wind noise to have a new window glass seal in place that actually keeps out the water and wind. Replaced the door edge seals about 2-3 months ago, and MAN!, what a difference! Like a new car!

Other than that, it's just keeping up with the 'rolling restoration'!

I did a clean up of inside and outside and got her ready for the roll cage. Some more stuff to be removed from engine compartment so I can repaint it.

I gave my car an electric fan, and adjusted her timing. Little does she know I also got some Ground Control Coil-Overs, and Springs to be installed at a later date.

Well I gave it something Red.........cleaned my K&N filter and cleaned the engine bay......went from black to red.........only had 3 thousand miles......Im sure it was the wild fires that made it black......

Then it ran rough....checked the spark plug wires into the cap.....Bamm.....Beeeaaaatch........got a bad wire.......

So I am off to get some new wires......

Saturday was a pretty nasty cloudy day, but Sunday was great (cold- but blue). I pulled mine out of the garage (stored since October). Checked the fluids, aired the tires, oiled the K&N on the Weber, tightened the lugs, squirted a little starting fluid and fired her up. Wiped the dust off the exterior, polished the chrome lip on the BBS wheels and popped in a couple of CD's in the changer (Stevie Ray Vaughn and Blues Traveler). Took her for a 2 hour cruise from Interstate to back roads, stopped at a diner to grab a cup of coffee around noon, finished up and scooted back home..

My wife was a little upset that I didn't want to go to Church that morning.. I really don't think the Lord will be upset..I'll bet that the Almighty has an RX-7 too.
