What did I do?

Okay, we put the SP exhaust on my Uncle's Corrolla (Rotary powered baby!)

So after replacing my stock exhaust, I decided to finally FINISH my Nest removal. I also removed my AC. In the process of finishing the nest removal (and forgetting that the Air Pump removal part needed a new belt, so, I'm back to where I was on that ) I took off the shutter valve thingy.

I started to car to make sure I did everything right, and it started right up, but something's different.

When I floor it now, it makes this LOUDER noise, almost sounds like my old exhaust. I haven't driven it yet, so I don't know if there's a difference in performance, but, it's a MUCH louder exhaust note. I'm wondering if this is good? Bad?

I wish I could record it. It's real loud, and real throaty.

Also, I backfire now?

WTF did I do?

Check out the ACV block off plate you made... if part of it breaks lose and creates a leak it roars alot more =) the trick to the emissions removal is using thick enough material for the blockoff plate and making sure its secure... Good luck

Well, um, isn't that part of the Airpump removal?

If not, yeah, I probably need to make that blocking plate

I believe you need two block-off plates to perform the rat's nest removal. One on the side of the manifolds, and one at the back. When I installed my RB header/exhaust, it came with two plates. Good luck.

Anytime brother

Make sure you use matching gaskets and a good sealer, or you'll be hunting down a vacuum leak forever...

Oh man, now I don't feel like such an idiot! It took me a couple of minutes to figure out what they were for too. But, didn't you see the similarities between the parts you were making, and the left over parts that came with the system? LOL. Maybe you could have used those as a templat to make your own? Glad you were able to fix it at least. Er, you did fix it, right?
