So I am trying to change my timing on my '82, and the Dizzy won't pop out of the block so I can set the timing to 0L. What could cause this?

Pull the adjusting nut/bolt and the dizzy should just pop out. There is an O-ring on it that may make it difficult. You should probably replace that.

Maybe spin the engine a little by hand as you pull on it. (Pull on the belts back and forth.)

Twist n pull works for most cars. Should work for the 7.

I have a stuck CAS in a FC front cover that I can't get out. I think it might be corroded in there.

It's been my expeirence when they are hard to get out that it is due to corrosion. Tapping on it from underneath with a rubber mallet should get it out.

the se i just tore apart had that problem, just get a small hammer and try to tap it up, or use a screwdriver to gently pry it up.

This is a well lubircated area, seems kind odd it would be hard to remove. Fisrt things first lets go through the basics. First thing before removing the dizzy is to disconnect all three plugs that connect to it,IE two ignitors and one small wire. Afterwords take the cap off to make it easier to work with. Remove the number 10 bolt that holds the dizzy in its place. Pull up and out. If hard, place your hand over the rotor in the center and turn it back n forth like you would a radio ***, then try again. If no luck take the plastic rotor off and tap very lightly on the center while lifting the dizzy. Being the bottom gears are on a angle it doesnt come straight out like butter everytime.

Hope this helps.

I know, sorry I didn't make it. She wouldn't start for me. I did, however, pick up a 12a today with only 68k miles on it . I'm debating on whether I want to just swap it in, or send it to someone like Kevin Landers at Rotary Resurrection for a rebuild/steet port, while the irons and housings are still in good shape, slap on a Holley 650 double pumper that's been boost prepped, get that HKS mani for the 12a that's in the FS section right now, and have myself the baddest first gen in the state
