I just got this in the mail. It was gift from Mazda in the 80's for filling out the survey on your vehicle.

Lets see some other cool 80's mazda stuff....

That's some pretty slow mail service for where you at, man. You did the survey in the 80's and you're just NOW getting that trinket?

And, to keep it on topic, I have no cool '80's stuff. Just a rotor keychain.

I got a 1st gen (SA to be precise) plastic model.
Its the pretty common one,Ertle I think. It came in red,so it was easy to paint it up to match my car (red/black stock body, prior to widebody)
A little chop of the suspension and some wheels/tires off another model, and I have an exact replica of my car.......sorry no pics.

^A guy, not to be mentioned, ripped off my design and started producing them, theres a thread on it, search for Rx-7 art.

As for my stuff, I have the old 1st gen Rx-7 Transformer Camshaft, a 1:24 scale diecast model I found around. And an original Rx-7 club keyfob from the '80's when the club was just a monthly mailing.

WTF is a fob, it was mentioned in the thread about door locks as well.... beside today ive never even heard the word....off to google i go.

i <3 google...A key fob is a type of security token: a small hardware device with built-in authentication mechanisms.

my key fob is just a little tear shaped piece of leather, with a metal piece attached that says Rx-7.

Sort of like the one pictured.

I have the May 1978 Road & Track with RX-7 as the cover story, and a November 1979 Road & Track "Street Mazda RX-7 vs IMSA RX-7" full road test.

I have a key fob and a decal from the original Rx-7 club. The one before the intarweb. When it was bi-monthly newsletters (which I only got one cause they went under after that lol). And I have lots of models and matchbox cars and stuff like that. Oh and I have a cool diecast of a 1st gen that won a Nurburgring<sp> race. It was a kit that has a nice diecast 1st gen with addons to make the kit. Decals and diecast extras like a racing bodykit and such. I dont want to build it so as to keep its collectability. I just display it with all my other 1st gen stuff in the living room.

You should post some pics of that stuff Carl LOL. The only 1st gen stuff I have is the FB itself and all the parts LOL. I did just get my very first die cast RX-7, though it's an FD, but it adds some Rotary flavor to my vast collection

Well, if we count crusty old magazines, and such, I also have a motortrend with a tribute to the SA/FB in the back. They give it some kind words, and a Japanese book called "Rx-7 Tribute" Has some awesome photos from the 1979-2002 cars, race cars, and production based race cars.

I'll have to scan some of the pictures in that, it has a cool little side view of a FB that shows in a little wave under the car exactly where all the weight is. You'll have to see it.

Yeah, I feel guilty for having it. He gave it to me for free and I had no idea that he ripped it from ya. He posted a thread that the owner of a FD & FB got a won free prize and thats how I came about the T-Shirt.
