Doing a rebuild and wanted to know what clutch kit every 1 is using? How well do you like it? How much was it? Where did you get it? I am going to have a street ported 12A. Thanks for the input. Car is a gs.

yea i haved the centerforce dual friction street/strip clutch pressure plate setup. Very pleassed, after about 2 years of having it, the ring holding the weights on it broke and sent it in to centerforce and got me a new one free of charge.

I am going to say it has to be a lot harder than stock. My pedal feels nonexistent with the stock clutch, and thats why I'll be going with the centerforce clutch when it comes time. Also check racingbeat.com for clutches. That'll be where I buy mine unless someone chimes in saying there is somewhere cheaper.

www.mariahmotorsports.com - cost for a 79-82 = 299, '83-85 = 333 for the Centerforce.

And that is all the more research I am doing for you. If you want parts, search for them yourself. You've been a member of this site since '04, and if you mean to tell me you can't find parts for your SA/FB yet then there is something wrong. I could have told you about racing beat and mariah motorsports within the first month I was a member.

**Edit - That is for clutch and pressure plate, not just clutch.

I aint asking for you to search I am asking if you put a new clutch in your car what do you think of it where did you buy it and how much. I already did the research I am Thing about going with the racing beat setup. Because of price and racing beat products being so good.

It depends on who you ask when it comes to how good the products are from Racing Beat. I go through Racing Beat because of the tech support more than the great quality in products. You can, more than likely, find the same products (unless it is Racing Beat made) for the same price or even possibly a bit less. And as far as the exhaust systems go, sure they are good but they are far from the best when it comes to power gains and stuff.

Anyway, I'm sorry if I am coming off as an *******, but the way you phrased it sounded like you were just being lazy and didn't want to find the parts yourself. Go to racingbeat.com. Go to mariahmotorsports. If you want more places to look through to go www.rx7mall.com and it has tons of links on there to parts stores.

No there are just so many parts out there tring to find out what everyone likes going to go try to drive one with a centerforce and see how i like it. Might even be going with an oem replacement.

Looks to me like mariah is reselling mostly RB products at a higher price. You'd be better to stick with RB and maybe Mazdatrix. At least mazdatrix resells RB sourced parts at the RB prices.

I have the centerforce also and did NOT notice an increase in pedal pressure over the stock clutch. perhaps this has more to do with the hydraulic setup instead of a mechanical one?

6 and 4 puck clutches with 3,000 lbs pressure plates. They work like a toggle switch. its either "ON" or "OFF"
